In the third year of my study I did an project for the police of Rotterdam. The problem was that cyber crime victims do not report to the police
Problem
Everyday more and more people are victims of some form of cyber crime. Because this is still a strange and new form of crime for many people, the right knowledge about the situation that applies to them is often lacking. As a result, many victims do not know what to do in that situation and look for the right information.
Solution
The AangifteWijzer is a web-based tool that speeds up the process of gathering information for victims of cyber crime. To get to the core of the problem, the algorithm asks questions that validate and exclude certain issues. After a series of questions, the algorithm is able to determine which crime has occurred. On the basis of this observation, the victim collects information about how the problem can be solved, which possible next steps are available and which measures can be taken for prevention.
